Pineau Rémi Landier – Très Vieux Pineau Blanc – 2003

Family-crafted since 1890

75cl – 17.5%

Rémi Landier pineaux are the fruit of an exacting selection of fine grape musts and fine cognacs, with meticulous attention paid to ageing. This 2003 Très Vieux white Pineau is aged in oak casks, crafted in the traditional way and hand-bottled in small batches — characterful, with marked notes of fruit and cognac. A true gastronomic spirit, to be enjoyed well chilled.

COLOR : Brilliant amber gold.

NOSE : An expressive bouquet where candied fruits (apricot, yellow peach), acacia honey and vanilla open up. With aeration, deeper notes of quince and roasted hazelnut are revealed.

MOUTH : Round and harmonious, with a lovely freshness preserved for its age. The palate unfolds with aromas of yellow fruit, honey, and a touch of sweet spice. The acidity maintains an elegant structure.

FINAL: Long, with candied fruit notes and a hint of emerging rancio. The signature of great aged white Pineau.

AGE STATEMENT : 10 years +
AOC : Pineau des Charentes Blanc
GRAPE VARIETY : Ugni Blanc
AGEING : French oak casks from the Limousin region.
PRODUCTION : the result of blending freshly harvested grape must with young cognac (mutage). The blend is then transferred to oak casks (former cognac casks) for careful ageing.

23-year-old Pineau is best enjoyed very chilled as an aperitif or as a cocktail base.

You will appreciate this Pineau paired with foie gras, a dessert with yellow fruits (tarte tatin, far breton) or a blue cheese. It will also be a perfect partner to a mild cigar or a gourmet coffee.
