Presentation
This 2010 cuvée from the Fraichefont estate has spent more than a decade in oak casks. Time has transformed the muted must into a deep Pineau, where fresh-fruit aromas have given way to notes of dried fruit, amber honey and noble oak. A benchmark for lovers of gastronomic Pineaux. The very essence of « Vieux Pineau » in the La Halte Rouillacaise range.
Tasting notes
- Eye : Deep amber robe with copper highlights.
- Nose : Complex, aged nose: dried apricot, fig, chestnut honey, fresh walnut. Tertiary notes of beeswax, blond tobacco and precious woods.
- Palate : Suave attack; the palate unfurls on caramelised dried fruit (Corinth raisins, dates), a melded woody frame and a touch of bourbon vanilla.
- Finish : Long finish on candied fruit, with a honeyed, gently rancio persistence.
