One of the most popular liqueurs in the world, Chartreuse liqueurs originate from a formula passed on to the monks of the Chartreuse de Vauvert in Paris in 1605. The version we know today as Chartreuse Verte was developed from 1764. There is a sweeter version with a lower alcohol content – Chartreuse Jaune – as well as many other limited editions.
