Presentation
Distillerie Dixneuf, a family estate rooted in the Rouillac country, offers here the exclusive expression of a single harvest year. 2012 brought a late, ripe vintage to the Charente, giving birth to a balanced eau-de-vie whose wooded patina has been sculpted over time. A cellaring cuvée, bottled in 35 cl format to open the tasting of the Dixneuf vintages.
Tasting notes
- Eye : Deep amber robe with golden highlights.
- Nose : Open, warm nose: prune, Corinth raisin, bourbon vanilla. On second approach, riper notes of dried fruit (walnut, toasted almond) come to enrich the whole.
- Palate : Suave attack; the palate unfurls on aromas of blond caramel, candied fruits and sweet spices (cinnamon, cardamom). The woody frame stays elegant, never dominant.
- Finish : Long finish, on emerging rancio with a touch of candied orange zest.
