Cognac – Cognac Groperrin – Bons Bois Ile D’oleron 18 YEARS

Grosperrin 18 Year Old Bois Ordinaires Cognac from the Île d'Oléron is a rare cognac from the island of Oléron. Aged over 18 years, it comes from a small estate located in Saint-Pierre-d'Oléron. It is 30 times rarer than a Grande Champagne of the same age.

The sandy soils of Île d'Oléron benefit from the influence of the Gulf Stream and Mediterranean-style sunshine. The island is known as "l'île aux herbes" (the island of herbs) due to its unique plants such as mimosa and tamarisk. The current owner has retired, and the last harvest took place in 2007, while only three previous harvests remain. Each year, Grosperrin purchases one vintage through a tacit agreement to continue the aging process in its cellars, where a slight reduction is carried out before barreling.
