This Gran Reserva Edition No. 1 is the admirable result of such an approach. Here, the aguardiente content reaches 80% – compared to 70% for the Reserva – the highest proportion of all Cuban rums! The remainder consists of lighter rums.
It was aged in Bourbon barrels for 10 years, with a finishing period of 3 months in French oak barrels.
This rum, one of the few to benefit from the protected designation of origin "DOP Ron de Cuba," reveals irresistible aromas of red fruits, vanilla, and coffee. The palate offers remarkable complexity with the presence of apricot, orange blossom, and Sichuan pepper, enhanced by saffron.
